The second of our high-volume vaccination centres is opening at Sandown Racecourse.
Following the successful opening of Cranbourne Turf Club, the South East Public Health Unit is expanding its reach and opening up greater opportunities for members of the public to have their COVID-19 vaccination.
The new high-volume vaccination centre is opening on Wednesday 19 May and will be accepting bookings and walk-ins.
Bookings are already open: people can call 1800 675 398 and then select, option 1, option 1, option 1.
Our Head of Infection Prevention and Epidemiology, Professor Rhonda Stuart, said “We have been averaging close to 500 vaccinations a day at Cranbourne, and Sandown will have additional capacity.”
“This is an exciting development for the people who live locally and can now access the free vaccination program, including on weekends.”
“We are aiming to vaccinate as many of our eligible community as safely and quickly as we can, so that people can get back to the way of life they love and we can protect the vulnerable members of our community from the serious health consequences of COVID-19.”
The centre at Sandown Racecourse will be open from 9.00am to 5.00pm every day.
To avoid delays or disappointment, we highly recommend booking an appointment before attending the centre.
There is free parking on site, which is accessed via the Princess Highway, and the nearest train station is Sandown Park.
Accessible parking is also available for permit holders.
