Cranbourne and Dandenong COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics to close 14 May

As we have always done with the COVID-19 Vaccination Program, Monash Health responds to the needs of the community.

Monash Health’s efforts to administer around 1 million COVID-19 vaccines has supported over 90% of those eligible in the community to be vaccinated and protected against COVID-19, resulting in a natural decrease in demand for vaccinations both in Monash Health’s vaccination clinics and across Victoria.

Therefore, as announced in April, both Monash Health’s Cranbourne Turf Club COVID-19 Vaccination Centre and Dandenong Plaza COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic will close on 14 May 2022.

Opening on 5 May 2021, the Cranbourne Vaccination Centre was Monash Health’s first high-volume COVID-19 vaccine clinic. In the past year, Cranbourne has delivered over 294,000 COVID-19 vaccines making it one of Victoria’s top 5 busiest COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

The Dandenong Vaccination Clinic originally opened as a pop-up on 16 September 2021 to support the local community, which at the time had one of the lowest vaccination rates in Victoria. Due to its popularity however, the clinic stayed and delivered 55,000 COVID-19 vaccines helping the City of Greater Dandenong’s double-dose vaccination rate substantially increase to over 93%.

There will continue to be free and local access to the COVID-19 vaccine for everyone aged 5 years and older through remaining clinics such as Sandown Racecourse (walk-ins and bookings accepted), mobile vaccination clinics, and the large network of GPs and pharmacies.

Thank you to everyone in the community who has been vaccinated at our Cranbourne and Dandenong COVID-19 vaccination clinics and to our amazing team who has made it possible.
