Practice Fellows

SEPHU welcomed Camilo Cayazaya and Abrar Mahsud as our two Practice Fellows (Prevention and Health Promotion) in 2023. Prior to commencing their Fellowship Camilo and Abrar worked as Public Health Officers in the Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control (CDPC) program at SEPHU. They bring a range of public health skills and knowledge to the Fellowship positions, alongside clinical expertise in their respective fields of Dietetics (Camilo) and Medicine (Abrar).

The Practice Fellowship (Prevention and Health Promotion) is a 12-month program that aims to build highly trained, vocationally prepared prevention and health promotion practitioners, with a focus on contemporary public health functions and practice. Camilo and Abrar will work within SEPHU on health promotion and prevention initiatives, with training and development supported by VicHealth. Camilo’s Fellowship project will focus on Nutrition Literacy, and Abrar’s on Social Prescribing. We look forward to their input over the next 12 months as SEPHU expands its remit around preventative health.
